To whom it may concern:

For the past five years our family and friends have come together to coordinate the “Mexican Open,” a golf tournament open for the community to enjoy the game of golf and to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, the blending of Mexican and American Cultures. This year the 6th annual golf tournament will be hosted on September 27, 2008 at the Paradise Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California. Each year a great Portion our proceeds are donated to Yolo Hospice to help those that are in need of care in Yolo and Solano County.

In 2006 the Mexican Open Committee was proud to announce that with all the help of our community we were able to begin the Mexican Open Scholarship. The Mexican Open Committee announced two senior students attending Vacaville High School and one from Will C. Wood High School as winners of the $500 scholarship for their college education. With the proceeds that we have received in 2007 we also will announce two additional winners for this year. For the upcoming year we are planning to expand the scholarship to include two additional scholarships to be given attending Vacaville High School and two more to Will C. Wood High School.

Each year we are more and more grateful for all the help that we have come to receive and can only hope for the best for the years to come.

With grateful appreciation,
